Our Story

The Beginning of Zenboo

Zenboo was born out of a personal journey. Our founder, Joe, struggled with sensitive skin and eczema, always searching for gentle, skin-friendly solutions. That search led to a discovery. Bamboo bed sheets. The softness and breathability of bamboo fabric made a big difference, sparking a deeper exploration into its potential.

Joe soon discovered bamboo fabric. It is soft, sustainable, and perfect for sensitive skin. Inspired by his Taiwanese and Japanese heritage, he wanted Zenboo to reflect the values he holds close to: simplicity, balance, and harmony with nature. Rooted in the essence of Zen, Zenboo is more than just a clothing brand. It’s a commitment to effortless style, comfort, and sustainability.

The Vision and Inspiration

Inspired by his Asian heritage and a desire to create something meaningful, Joe set out to make a difference. He shared his vision with friends who also valued their roots and were committed to sustainability, quality, and ethical fashion.

Together, they imagined a brand that embraced a Zen approach to fashion. It would encourage slowing down, being intentional, and choosing quality over speed. They saw an opportunity to craft bamboo garments that are as gentle on the skin as they are on the planet.

Believing in this vision, they brought Zenboo to life. The brand blends tradition, sustainability, and modern simplicity into every piece.

The Zenboo Logo

The Zenboo logo reflects our philosophy of simplicity, balance, and growth. Inspired by the Zen circle (ensō), it symbolizes wholeness, mindfulness, and the beauty of imperfection. Like the brushstroke of an ensō, our journey is one of continuous learning and growth.

At the heart of our design is bamboo, a symbol of strength, resilience, and sustainability. Bamboo grows with grace and purpose, just as we strive to create garments that are gentle on your skin and the planet.

The circle also represents the natural cycle of production—from nature, back to nature. Our garments start with renewable bamboo, are crafted with care, and return to the earth with minimal impact. This cycle reflects our commitment to sustainable fashion, ensuring harmony with the planet.

Our logo is more than just a symbol. It’s a reminder to live with intention, embrace simplicity, and grow with purpose.

Growth and Milestones

Zenboo started as a dream. By 2024, it had grown into a small Asian-led team that grew from one to three, and by 2025, into five passionate individuals united by a shared vision. Conversations with our community uncovered a common struggle: finding garments that look good, feel gentle on the skin, and are worn with pride.

At the close of 2024, we took our first step forward with the launch of our early access list, welcoming the first 100 community members eager to get a peek at our first garment. And now, we are at a milestone moment, introducing our very first original piece: The Zenboo™ Original T-Shirt.

We won’t stop dreaming. We will strive to deliver the best planet-gentle, comfortable bamboo garments that foster sustainability and well-being for you and our planet.

CloudZen Fabric

Our signature bamboo viscose blend is:

  • Soft & Breathable – Perfect for sensitive skin.
  • Durable & Sustainable – Made from fast-growing, renewable bamboo.
  • Responsibly Processed – We use safe chemistry and conserve water.

CloudZen fabric is made from bamboo pulp, sourced from one of the most renewable and fast-growing plants. However, we recognize that fabric production has an environmental footprint, and we are committed to minimizing our impact. While all textiles require processing, we prioritize safe chemistry and responsible water management. We’ve taken the extra step to trace our entire supply chain, ensuring that our fibres are crafted, dyed, and finished with care.

CloudZen fabric is one of the most planet-gentle alternatives to fabrics like cotton and polyester, and we continue to push for positive impact at every step.


Sustainability

We are dedicated to crafting garments that are gentle on the planet. We prioritize planet-gentle sourcing, ensuring that our materials are responsibly produced. Our commitment extends to our packaging, which is designed to minimize waste. We work to lower emissions and energy use throughout our operations, reducing our environmental impact. We embrace recycling, upcycling, and reusing materials whenever possible, supporting a circular lifestyle. With bamboo, we support a slower, more Zen approach to fashion, standing against the harmful effects of fast fashion.
